The Strasbourg Go Club welcomes all participants to the European pairgo championship 2017 that will be held on the 1st and 2nd april 2017 at the Maison de la Région Grand Est in Strasbourg, France.Pair go is a very popular variation of go that was invented 30 years ago by Mr. Hisao Taki. His wife, Mrs. Hiroko Taki enjoyed playing go and wanted to attract more female players. Pair go is a variation that enables men and women to play go together and not only against each other. Mr. and Mrs. Taki have since then been the organizers of many Pair Go events in the world such as the world amateur pair go championship or the pair go world cup. Hajin Lee recently made a short introduction video about pair go.The first European Pair Go championship was held in 1997 in Amsterdam and this year we’re hosting the 20th edition of the event. It is the second tournament we organize at the “Maison de la Région Grand Est” after the 1st European pro qualifications in 2014.
